Permits Central is not currently monitoring San Diego permit data in production. The official source is connected and being validated for reliable daily updates.
The City of San Diego publishes issued development approvals as yearly files on its official open data portal. Permits Central reads those files, keeps every original row, and organizes new permit approvals by trade.
We download the current year's official approvals file, compare each row to what we already hold, add new approvals, and classify the scope of work into trades. Rows that repeat across downloads are recognized and not double-counted.
San Diego has a large stock of older homes, strong ADU activity, solar and battery installs, and coastal remodeling. Permit approvals describe the scope of work, which helps roofers, solar installers, electricians, plumbers and remodelers see where projects are underway.
A few real records from the official source. Addresses, values and project parties are available to subscribers.
